Firstly We will explore the areas around Jerusalem, starting with a visit to the Herodion fortress in the Judean desert. The Herodion is an impressive fortress and palace built by Herod the Great, and it offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. We will explore the site and learn about its fascinating history.
As we explore the site, we’ll learn about its history and its various functions as a palace, fortress, and center for foreign affairs. The Herodion is also noteworthy for being King Herod’s final resting place.
Next, we will head to Bethlehem, which is a part of the Palestinian Authority. Here, we will visit the Church of Nativity, which is one of the oldest churches in the world and was built on the site where Jesus was born. We will be accompanied by a local guide and use local transport to ensure a safe and informative experience.
Our next stop is Ein Karem, the picturesque birthplace of John the Baptist. Here, we will visit the Church of the Visitation, the site where Mary is said to have visited her cousin Elizabeth. We’ll also have the opportunity to visit other churches, such as the Church of John in the Wilderness and the Church of the Birth of John the Baptist.
